The tourist information office is adjacent to the arena information office inside the main entrance to the Gretzky Center where staff will welcome visitors and residents looking for travel ideas, itineraries and memories, said Sara Munroe, director of tourism, culture and sport at Brantford.

“Our new location offers a number of enhanced services, including extended hours of operation for visitors at busy tournaments, a coach welcome program and Brantford brand merchandise available for purchase. “

The former Brantford Visitor and Tourism Center at 399 Wayne Gretzky Pkwy. will be temporarily used by the Brantford Police Department during the expansion and renovation of the Police Building on Elgin Street. Most of the city’s economic development and tourism workers have moved from the Wayne Gretzky Parkway location to the New City Hall.

There is a three-year suspension on the sale of the old tourist center building, which is owned by the city. Renovation of the building is expected to begin in April. About $ 1.5 million has been allocated in the police headquarters project budget for “transitional space needs”.

To celebrate the opening of visitor services at the Gretzky Center, Tourism Brantford is campaigning to support the Brantford Food Bank during the holiday season.

From December 6 to 18, visitors are invited to deposit a gift card or non-perishable food donation for the food bank at the tourist information counter. In return, they will receive 10% off their merchandise purchase, plus a free gift, while supplies last.

The hours of operation for the winter season are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On tournament days, the tourist information office will be open until 6 p.m.
