New Delhi: Enterprise software company Freshworks Inc., formerly Freshdesk, announced Monday that it has acquired Zarget, a web analytics start-up backed by high-profile investors including Sequoia Capital. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This is Freshworks’ ninth acquisition in less than three years. He had hired chatbot start-up Joe Hukum, data integration platform Pipemonk, and social media customer service company Airwoot, among others.
“At Freshworks, our ambition is to become the de facto cloud-based enterprise software platform for businesses of all sizes,” said Girish Mathrubootham, Managing Director and Founder of Freshworks. The company said the acquisition will help it create marketing solutions for its customers.
Founded in 2015, Zarget provides tools for businesses and marketers to understand user behavior on websites. According to the company, its suite of solutions, which includes a map of visitor clicks, tests to determine top performing web pages, and other patented tools deployed through Google Chrome extensions, provide actionable insights to increase profitability. user engagement.
“Today, our software promotes customer engagement in all aspects of the customer journey, from customer acquisition to customer support. The acquisition of Zarget will allow Freshworks to walk clients through the pre-acquisition process and to truly transform the way our clients attract and interact with their potential clients, ”said Mathrubootham.
Zarget was founded by former Zoho executives Arvind Parthiban, Naveen Venkat and Santosh Kumar and is based in Chennai. The start-up received an initial investment from Mathrubootham of Freshworks and raised $ 7.5 million in two rounds from Accel Partners, Matrix Partners India and Sequoia Capital India.
